Toby Pomeroy
Toby Pomeroy’s art has always drawn upon global influences and principles of sustainability. Conflicted by the intolerable impacts of conventional precious metals mining, Toby asked the nations largest gold suppliers and refiners if they would provide pure gold and silver derived entirely from reclaimed sources. They agreed, and this ground-breaking initiative became Toby’ Pomeroy’s source of 100% reclaimed gold and silver.
When beginning his career as a jewelry designer, Toby spent 6 months in seclusion in a small cabin in Oregon’s coast developing a unique and personal style forging and constructing designs based on elemental forms found in nature. Today, each Toby Pomeroy creation is hand crafted in his studio in Corvallis, Oregon.
As one of the first industry artisans to exclusively use reclaimed metals, Toby demonstrates that one person, taking inspired action, can make a difference in contributing to and preserving the world around us.
Toby is not just a highly acclaimed designer. He is a designer who is passionate about creating beautiful wearable art, as he is about making sure that he is not destroying the environment in the process. He has built a successful jewelry designer firm with clients such as L.A.’ s Fred Segal, and stars such as Cameron Diaz wearing his forged gold hoop earrings in her film, Charlie’s Angles.
Having previously been at Saks Fifth Avenue, Toby Pomeroy is now showing exclusively at Manika Jewelry along with SF MOMA for Northern CA.
